PC-DMIS connectivity issues with Romer Infinite

I have a Romer Infinite arm connected to PC-DMI 4.1 through WiFi, and when I go to execute a program I can't get the arm to take any points. I have used PC-DMIS a ton, and arms with other software, but never the two in conjunction, and I was just wondering if anyone here can give me some pointers. I think that it is connected to the software, because I can calibrate a probe, and the joint exercise in the beginning of the bootup works fine, but I can't seem to get anywhere when I try to measure a plane. I've tried turning off the remote mouse function, but still nothing when I press the measure button on the arm when I'm executing. Hopefully someone will have some ideas, or maybe I'm going about it wrong.

Thanks in advance
  • Hi Josh,
    Very strange problem...
Can you tell me if the DRO is 'moving' as you move the arm around? To open up the DRO, hold down the WHITE button for longer than1 second...

Can you hear a point being taken when you press the RED button on the Arm in PC-DMIS?

The problem could also be related to how you 'truned off the remote mouse function' Can you tell me how you did it? If you did it in the PC-DMIS settings editor, there are actually two places to do it...

Let me know, I will help if I can.

    Doug
  • What Is The Best Way To Shut Off The Remote Mouse? When I Am Trying To Use The Arm To Do Reports In The Field I Will Hit It On Accident Then I Am Chasing My Tail Trying To Find The Pointer To Shut It Off In The Middle Of My Program And Never Seems To Work Out I Usually Have To Close Down And Start Over! • If you hold the first knuckle up so it is touching the first straight then twist the knuckle round 90 degrees it toggles the probe as mouse on or off. I am without the arm or software at moment so can't tell you if there is an option to turn it off but would think it may be in the settings editor.
Hope this is what you are looking for.
