New to visio, Calibration of camera??????

Hello.
I'm new to this forum and to the software too.
I would like to ask if someone knowes how to calibrate camera and illumination. Do I need something for calibration?
When I try to calibrate camera do I need a Hexagon block???
What is a Hexagon block?
We have a Tesa visio 300 machine and PC DMIS 4.2 and 4.3, but the probe is calibrated only in 4.3. When I work in 4.2 I don't have the calibration.
Is calibration procedure similar to one in other software? Until now I was using McCosmos. Are this softwares similar?
Help please!
Thank for your answers.

  • To calibrate the optics you will require the Hexagon Glass Slide. This is usually not supplied with the TESA machines as the optics calibration is only done if something changes in the optics. This slide can be purchased from you local TESA agent

The illumination calibration is required periodically as the lamps will change over time. For the top and ring light we recommend for general perpose you use just a focus on sheet of white paper. The bottom light is done by bringing the glass into focus.

The Camera to Tactile Calibration is done on a ring gauge. This will usually be supplied as part of the qualification unit.
