Automatically Retry a Measurement?

Hi,

I have a TesaVisio CMM with PC-DMIS 4.3 MR2

I'm using the vision system to measure the OD of a gray circular part in a white nest.

I have a problem with a program in which the CMM occasionally fails to detect the edge as it indexes around the edge of the part. The strange thing is that any time it fails to detect the edge if I simply click continue it will detect it on the second try without fail. Is there anyway I can write into the program an automatic second try?

Thanks

  • It is an auto feature, the part is large enough that the camera has to move around it taking short arcs that it adds up into a full circle. It fails occasionally during arc detection as it moves around the part. It doesn't focus during each arc detection just at the start of the feature. It stops at each position around the OD for a moment as it takes the arc points. My one thought was that perhaps as it moves around the OD it moves to fast and does not stabalize before attempting to take the points. I'm fairly new to the quirks of automated vision measurement so I'm not sure if that is relevant or not though.
