True Position tolerance Modifier

I have a PCDMIS 4.2 with MR1 version. I believe that there is a flaw in the software which it does not allow to choose the appropriate modifier (M, R, or L). If the feature size is other than a circle, the modifier is automatically selected to be regardless of feature size (symbol "R"). This is not always the case, most of our drawing and the true position tolerance applies on the width and length, not always on the cirle, and the True Position modifier is a Maximum Material Condition - MMC.

The PCDMIC 4.2 works great if the True Position Tolerance with the "M" Modifier apllies to a Circle feature.

Is there a way to overide the automatic selection of the modifier?
  • ive always made a generic circle for a slot and applied MMC that way. Been doin it like that since 3.2 so I dunno if there is a better way, i never bothered to look.

Will it let you toggle it to MMC in the edit window after the dimension is created?
  • Thanks for the replies!
No it won't let me toggle. Once you selected your feature other than a cirle, it would automatically gray out the mofier "M" and "L", and select the "R" modifier. I looked every where I can choose or toggle the modifier but no success. Maybe, I'm not looking in the right place.

If the feature is a slot and/or a circle it works just fine. It let's you toggle to "M", "R", or "L" modifier. The problem is when the True Position tolerance is applied on the Width and/or Lenght and the modifier is "M" which many or our drawing are drawn this way. The software won't let me choose any modifier (such as M or L) other than "R", actually R is automatically selected for me and the "M" and "L" are grayed out.

Yeah, take your 2 points, make a generic circle, and bam...M,R,L.
