Optiv2 4.4.3 Anyone using this?

Looking at Multi-sensor machines for small parts, had a quick OGP demo.
Although I fear the PCDemon, I would like to know if anyone has any input on this.
  • Our multi-sensor machines are all (4) made by Mycrona and run PC-DMIS. Although Mycrona is now owned by Hexagon as well.. they have been troublesome to say the least. Good for probing only, good for vision only... not so good for combining the two within the same program..
  • We have an Optiv2. It does a pretty decent job combining sensors but you have to be sure that your offsets are correct.

We have, however, had trouble with the White Light Sensor. Scanning is somewhat limited as the Optiv2 is not capable of true circular motion. This limit prohibits some types of scan such as rotational, freeform, etc.

With vision it is all about your needs.
    What kind of parts?
Why do you think you need multisensor?
    Which sensors?
What is the breakdown of measurement per sensor in percentage - this a huge question to understand.
Is this one off or production inspection?
Who will be running the machine?
Forget about CAD if the parts are primarily vision unless they are pure 2D backlit parts.
