Auto-Qualification Issues with Optiv 1 Vision System with PCDMIS 2001

I am working with a B&S Optiv 1 CMM with a Visio 300 probe and TESA tool change rack in PCD 2011. The issus I am experiencing is that I can qualifiy the the video probe to its ring standard and the touch probe to the ring and the qual-sphere individually from the probe utility window, but when I write them into an auto-qualification routine the camera and the TTP fail to find the ring standard. I have gone through the 'calibrate optics', the 'calibrate illumination' & the 'calibrate probe offset' flawlessly. I do not understand what I could be doing wrong in the routine which works very well without the inclusion of the video probe but fails when the video probe is inserted in to the routine. Any and all help with this issue is GREATLY APPRECIATED!

Thanks In Advance!!

  • It is a program that the operator is required to run from the STI. I found out what the was the source of the failure. It seems that the video probe of the Optiv 1 does not store a fixed home position therefore it does not remember the zero point for the standard. The solution was simply to autocal the TTP that is used to tie the ring standard & the qualsphere prior to qualifying the video probe. The TTP is qualified first to the qualsphere then to the ring standard. The video probe is then calibrated to the ring standard.
