My company is looking into trying non-contact measurement with our CMM's, using scanning heads to measure key characteristics of a proven part. The idea is to drastically eliminate inspection time on these parts.
My questions are ... what are the best scanning heads that will reliably measure profile of a surface/edge and position? How well do these scanning heads work with a possible small amount of vibration?
We are going to have B&S rep come in and I just want to have a good idea of what these scanning heads are capable of doing, would like opinions on how they work on a day to day basis.
