Adam, by not easy do you mean you are waiting in queue, or talking to people, calling a local office, ??? I audit the phones from time to time looking for issues. Thanks!
So I run an Optiv 2z763 but I have gotten this error before multiple times.
I turn off my computer and my machine everyday when done with use with the big red disconnect in the back fo my machine.
When I show up in the morning to program, if I turn on my PC and boot PC-DMIS and click "OPEN" on my E-Stop WITHOUT the machine being on in the back this same exact error pops up. I forget to turn it on sometimes
After you click "OPEN" would be when the machine is about to "Home"
I would almost bet that there is some kind of hardware failure. If my machine is on and running before I boot PC-DMIS this error never comes up. Possibly a unplugged cable to the controller or something bad in the controller.
I realize this is an old thread, but I have a Tesa Visio 300GL DCC and it uses the Reflex Vision software and I am getting the same error (motion controller communication initialization failure). After talking to approx 10 people (from Hexagon, Fowler, and TESA) no one seems to be able to help. I checked the cables and the boards in the computer and now I am getting this error: "Cannot initialize Machine: please reset the controller and try again" Anyone experience this issue or have any suggestions?
If the machine was working normally and then suddenly stopped working, always failing with the comm init failure and no stage motion, another thing to check is the driver status in the Windows Device Manager. Look for the QC5000 entry, double click it, and look at the status. It should say device is working properly if all is well. If you uninstalled PCDMIS with a portlock software key correctly configured for TESA 300 hardware, it will uninstall the driver. Conversely if you install PCDMIS with this portlock configuration it will install the driver.
