Multiple alignments

Has anyone tried to use a multiple alignments?
The program works and it measured all the feature up to the second alignment. When i ran the program, the orientation of the camera is still on the original position. Below is how i set up my program:

I established CAD/PART orinetation, and my 1st alignment. I created all the features to be measured looking down the part. Now, I want to measure the side view of the part. I established a new origin (as my second aligment) and inserted the "Equate Alignment"

  • Well I have never used the vision product, but nkWAI says it is just like the cmm version which I know well. Are you changing workplanes after you insert the new alignment? Do not use equate for what you are trying to do. If you have a block and the top is A the front side B and left side C your first Z+ , (or top view looking down on the part), would be a A/B/C alignement and you would be using a Z+ workplane to measure holes in A. Then if you switch to a front view your new alignement might be B/A/C with a Y- workplane to measure holes in B.

Also in pc-dmis cmm the grapics window can be configured to show multiple workplanes simultaneously or any single work plane of your choice but the graphics window does not automatically change perpective based on what you do in the program, it has entirely seperate controls. HTH
