Using Code to Access Auto Feature Dialog Box Commands

Hi! First, I am new to using CMMs and PC-DMIS, so forgive me if I don't have the exact terminology down. I think I have researched this topic enough to ask a coherent question. I only need to know if what I want to do is possible so that I don't go down a useless rabbit hole.

I am in a situation where I was asked to run a program and then use the Auto Feature Dialog Box to go back to each measured feature, generate Temporary Test Features, and visually check that the temporary generated lines are in the correct location (see Step 5 on the above linked page). With the number of features we are measuring, this is a long process and ties up our CMM too long.

I came across this thread on this forum where users discussed using Image Capture to record an image of the Live View as it measures the feature, which is half-way to what I am wondering is possible. What I want to know is, could one use PC-DMIS or Basic to access the commands in the Auto Feature Dialog box to go to each measured feature, generate the Temporary Test Feature lines, and capture an image with the lines? If so, can the captured image be saved with the name of the feature?

Thanks!
