PPAP Project

Customers requirements is to have CMM report in sequence with the print, so they can read without the report, without looking all over the print. Is there a standard way or easy way to re - sequence the report?

  • Balloon your print, I number each dimension on the print in clockwise order, doing this in each view. The prints I use can be printed on normal size copy paper, or I will copy the individual views, balloon what you copied using a pen, when this is done, I scan the ballooned print copies at my office printer and send them to me via email (if you have this option). The scanned print comes to me in PDF format. I then have options on how to report the info. in pcdmis, I usually place the info in order at the end of the program as mentioned. I also change the dim. id to the BALL_id, (note, I said DIM id, not the feature id). If you want, you can dimension through out your program, then make a variable feature set in datapage in the balloon order. I send my data to datapage, usually measuring five parts. I report the data in datapage using the dimension id format, or make a variable set and export the data in excel format using the ppap format in datapage to my desktop. I then use my company ppap form that is in excel on my desktop, open the datapage excel, delete the items not needed, copy the info over to me ppap form in an open worksheet. Close the datapage excel and work only in my company excel file. Copy and paste the data onto the ppap form, works great. I then open the scanned balloon print and get the page to be as large as possible, then hit print screen and paste this into the ppap excel file on a separate worksheet I title "balloon print". Then, I make a roadmap of my feature points, or convert to show the balloon id's for the roadmap, you might have to put your feature id in / next to the balloon id to reference. All info is now in one excel file that I title with the part id, ppap, and date. Each worksheet should be titled in the file for easy reference. See if this helps, I find it easy and puts all info in one file for email.
