PPAP Project

Customers requirements is to have CMM report in sequence with the print, so they can read without the report, without looking all over the print. Is there a standard way or easy way to re - sequence the report?

  • On an existing program:

You need to place the dimensions sequentially at the end of your program.

Take care that you recall the correct workplanes and/or alignments.

Take your time and double check your work.

    Good luck.

What has work for me with using the Balloon numbers for my Dimension ID's is to label the Dimension ID's using this format listed below.

For Balloon numbers ranging from 1 to 999 I use Ex. 001_01 thru 999_01
The first part of the ID before the underscore is for the Balloon number and the second part of the ID after the underscore is for the number of dimension features.
    Ex. Balloon number "101" Dimension (3x 1.500 +/- 0.020) I will dimension this using the format 101_01, 101_02 and 101_03.
Now if I only have a total of 10 Balloon numbers than I would use this format 01_01 thru 10_01.
Now if I only have a total of 10 Balloon numbers and had one dimension that had 100x I would use this format 01_001 thru 10_001.
Now if I only have a total of 10 Balloon numbers and had one dimension that was Balloon Ex. "101A" I would use this format 101A_01.
When I export the results to excel I will use the Sort or Filter feature to organize the dimensions Smallest to Largest. This way I can program PC-DMIS without the concern of my Balloon numbers order.
With this format it would be helpful to have a Sort feature added to the Reporting window in PC-DMIS.
