When flatness is called out on drawing. How many hits and how far away are each hit has to be? What is the proper way to manually very a flatness call out?
That is correct, the sensor can be moved to a couple of different spots on the rock. We bought a used rock and had 2 holes water jetted into it, built nylon fittings to hold the sensors then epoxied the fittings into the rock. We use a 2 inch gage block on its side to zero the indicator then simply slide the part over the top. It cost a couple hundred bucks to build but saves hours of set up time using it instead of setting the part up on the rock and using a dial indicator.
