How to avoid eyestrain on CAD colors

All,

A new customer project presented me with CAD graphics that were a silver / white that started to drive me crazy (I know other than the Demon) and so after playing around with color settings for a while to no avail I found a setting that I now just LOVE above all else (not beer or motorcycles though!)Stuck out tongue closed eyes

Go into:

EDIT --> Graphic Display Window --> CAD Assembly Then from here select the CAD features (part, fixture, etc.) to adjust, and then check the transparency box and play with adjusting the percentage! (for this project I adjusted the transparency to 68%)

I've now ensured I can be staring at the monitor for another 20 years as a slave to the Demon!!!

  • I change my CAD Model to a silvery grey to like metal as well, then I go to the CAD Lighting, and make sure the Light Colors Ambient is black, and the Diffuse is mid grey ish, and the Specular is almost all the way black but not quite all the way there, but the Specular can be played around with to meet the eyes dullness satisfaction.
