Uploading into datapage

Good morning all,

Here's a novice question: Is there a way to upload a report into Datapage from an existing program?

Situation: I just started looking into how to use Datapage two days ago (never used it before) and figured out how to upload reports into Datapage and was able to view the reports. I am in the process on how to figure out how to use Dataview.

My customer has just asked for run charts (which I provided), but now have come back and asked for run charts with graphics. The sample chart given was a Dataview report.

I have the individual programs for each part laid out, but they were not uploaded into Datapage (parts were ran before learning how to upload the data). The parts have been sent to the customer so there is no way of getting them back for layout.

So the question again is: Can data be uploaded from a saved program?
Confused
Can anybody help? I am running PC-DMIS 3.5 and Datapage 3.33 on my CMM.

Thanks

    YES YOU CAN!!!!!

The NAME inside each file MUST be the same as this is where the data is saved in Datapage, the program NAME itself does NOT need to be the same (what you see when you go to open). Open each one, make sure the stats command is present AND marked, then click on OPERATION ~ SEND CURRENT STATS TO FILE and it will process it exactly the same as if you just ran it.
  • Yes, that did the trick. I was able to upload everything.

Now for the next question: I am able to show the run charts to go along with points on the part, but the customer wants additional information to go along with the charts (please see attached). How do you do that? I cannot find the choices in the configure output area.

    Attached Files
  • No luck. Tried printing it out and created a .pdf file, still comes out the same. But the link does show exactly what I have and what I want to show.

    Any other ideas?
  • Just figured it out. In the Configure Output Options, the Dense Mode needs to be check. Printed it out as a .pdf and it works.

    Thanks to all.

Can you explain each step you did in order to get stats to print out with your runchart? I have been looking in DATAPAGE 3.33 for the options you cited, "Configure Output Options" and " "Dense Mode"" and cannot find them. Please advise.
  • That's right, it is a Dataview option. In Dataview, I went into configure output options, checked the Dense Mode box, and selected the items I want to show in the Dense Mode Stats. Then when I created the Dataview report the view does not show the Dense Mode, but after I printed / created .pdf file it does appear.

Here's another newbie question: Why is it when I have the results automatically go into a new database I am able to create a dataview report, but when I tried to upload the data again into another new database, I keep on getting a "no valid data was processed" message? I noticed in the original programs a program was uploaded that should not have been uploaded (and I did not select the part when creating the dataview report), so I went back and re-dimensioned the data again for all programs. Right now they all have the same number of dimensions being reported out, same tolerance for all, and the same dimensional label. I have been working on the problem all morning and not getting anywhere.

    Please help.
