I hope this isn't a dumb question. I will be moving to first shift soon and there will be two of us running two CMMs at the same time. I recently moved the DataPage database to a network drive so that it could be backed up and so that both machines could write to the same location. My question is, will there be any issue if both machines finish a part at the same time and try to update the database? I know there is little chance of both machines finishing at the same time but I am sure it will happen sooner or later and I don't want to corrupt the database.
I'm not a Datapage expert but you may have problems accessing the same database at the same time. You won't necessarily corrupt the database (we haven't), you may have to go through the whole "unlock" process to recover and continue.
I'll leave it for an expert to give you the unlock process.
