Exporting to alternate database?

Without even touching PC-DMIS, is there any way to get the data from a datapage database and export it to some other form? Such as an Access database, or even a txt file. We check dozens of points on any number of parts, and they're wanting to export the data to some format other than datapage so that it can be queried.
  • Yep, you can export it from Datapage and open it with Excel.
  • Sorry, I didn't make my post specific enough. What I'm looking to do is extract the data from the datapage database without using datapage. In other words, get the data from the d01, d02, d03, d04, d05, k01, k02, etc files and export it to another usable format. The more I look into it, the more it seems someone is going to have to make it so PC-DMIS just exports to an excel file.

    There's an app for that.

Really. There is a download on the Wilcox site.

I know. Problem is, there's about 2 years worth of collection data in the datapage database, and they want to continue to use datapage but still have the data accessible from Access (don't ask me why, I just do as I'm told). So, I pretty much have to open datapage and get all of the data exported to a txt file to get what we have now into a database, and then edit the PC-DMIS to export new data to datapage and to excel.
  • Create a Datapage macro to output a spreadsheet report > Use an external command to execute macro from within your part routine > create a macro in your Access DB to get external data. Assign the macro to a command button or however you want to run it....

Yeah, I'm going to have to do something like that. I was looking into ITTIA's ODBC Driver, but it isn't extracting the data correctly (leaving out a lot of data (aside from the 25 row limit for the evaluation copy)). Not to mention they want $1750.00 for a license. No thanks.

Thanks for the info/help guys, off to configure the changes.

this is something that I could make very good use of
could you explain in more detail how to create datatpage macro etc
    thanks
