PC-DMIS creating .dbu/.txt files in the DataPage directory

I am currently running PC-DMIS 3.5 MR2 and DataPage. Recently, I've had problems with getting .dbu and .txt files in the DataPage directory. I've tried deleting these, as well as the vista.taf and the lockmgr.dbl files, but the problem persists. Eventually, the directory gets so many of these that DataPage won't update anymore until I delete the files.Today, I created a new DataPage database (thinking maybe the old one was corrupt), and I see that I am STILL having this problem.

In the past, I have checked the XSTATS11.tmp files on all 3 computers that are saving to this database, with no luck. Does anyone have a suggestion that could save me a call to tech support?
  • dbu (databasae user) files are used by the DP products to grab locking info. PCdmis does not create them. They should be automatically deleted once the program closes.
You mention 3 computers dumping into 1 database. Hopefully, all 3 are using the EXACT same path name. And if you have a local computer looking at the database, it too will need the EXACT name/path of those dumping into the db.
  • You mention the "automatically deleting" aspect of this, and that was the clue I needed. The permissions on the Datapage directory for the CMMs somehow got changed so that they only had "write" permission. Once I changed the permission to "modify" everything is fine.
