Parallel to USB Dongle Upgrade: Need Auth. Code

We were having problems with our computer. We contacted Hexagon I believe about an upgrade to newer computer. We had the parallel dongle on the old computer. We got a new computer without parallel ports on it. Hexagon sent us a USB dongle. Everything worked fine, except for some minor issues with DataPage, for 45 days. Today when I open up the program I can't load any data in DataPage. It says my license is no longer valid and to put in a code that goes with my dongle serial number. My problem is that I did not recieve a new code with the USB dongle. We are not current on our MSA. Does this mean I'm SOL? I realized how bad of a situation I am in when I couldn't load the database. I just hope I don't have to shell out $8k for the code.

Thanks,
Kevin

  • When switching from the LPT1 port to the USB port, you need a new code to enter on the "splash screen" that comes up when DatapageRT opens. If you didn't get the code, you are SOL, and I would bet long odds that you PAID for the new USB dongle. As for getting it to work. Simply BUY an LPT1 (parallel) card and put it in the computer. They cost like $8, and would have been a TON cheaper than what you paid for the new USB dongle.
