We have a database in place etc.. But when we go to use the editor so we can get rid of some of the parts . The "Parts" section under "View" is greyed out.. We havent had any issues with this until yesterday. The system hasnt been changed at all, but all of a sudden this function doesnt want to work.. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.. Thanks ahead of time!!
boils down to that for some reason the editor can no longer read the portlock ID correctly. What has changed to the computer between the Editor being authorized and now?
On a different note you can go to version 3.33 if you have access to the wilcox ftp site:
Honestly, absolutely nothing has changed is what Im being told. The operator did mention something about the system being a little glitchy one day when he was booting up in the morning. But no files or anything have been moved or changed as far as I know..
Just making sure that you went trying to use R/T with Windows 7. Doesn't run with 64 bit and only the front end runs on 32 bit. I would suggest that you look for drivers for your Portlock at Almaden.
What I am doing while waiting to hear back from you James is; Ive removed the Hasp/Hardlock drivers using hinstall.exe in a command prompt. Ive successfully removed all the drivers, now Im trying to reinstall them and Im getting another error.. I cant win!
OK.... I have fixed the issue and Im going to try and explain what steps I took to resolve it.
1. I used hinstall.exe from the Datapage Directory in a Command Prompt. Using hinstall i removed "ALL" drivers. (I got rid of the above error by using number 6 "Kill Process" before trying to install the driver)
2. I then installed Aladin drivers, the executable was named hldrv32.exe...
3. I then used hinstall to install the driver and it completed successfully, I then did a "Get Hasp Info" and the drivers were there.. something like 3.74..
As a side note: When trying to uninstall the drivers i had an error about a process needing to stop first, I couldnt stop it using hinstall, i had to use the Task manager and "end task" on the process then removal of the drivers was possible.
This all seems so simple now, but it did take some tinkering to get there.. A HUGE thanks to everyone whom tried to help me figure this out, it was much appreciated. Im back in business!!
Datapage versions prior to 3.33 had an interesting problem with the editor; the port lock id would be incorrect if the actual port lock id was greater than 32767. You can verify that this is your problem by starting Datapage RT and note the value in the user id field from the splash screen and compare this to the value shown in the Datapage Editor under Help - About.
The fix was to install version 3.33. It likely worked until recently as you have a 90 day trial period for the software (and it just ran out).
