Is there a search function in Datapage 2012? I have a couple hundred + part folders in DP, but it's a pain sorting through them all. Even if I place them in whatever order DP follows. I have part folders, move the info into the folder, but can I delete the info that is in the "all parts area" and direct the future info into the folder itself? Also, how do you organize your DP info? Maybe I can pick up some help on organizing. Give your tips and suggestions.
In DataPage+ 5.0 SP1 (
the latest release version; 28 January 2015), you now can import part data directly to a category from PC-DMIS. I've attached a PDF file with some simple instructions on how to accomplish this. For this latest version, you can go
here.
Also, in this latest version, you can assign specific categories to users. Then, instead of users seeing the "All Parts" menu when they log in, they can go straight to their first assigned category. This is done in "Tools > Account". Right-click the user icon, and then click "
Category Access Control". Here you can assign users to one or more categories, or check the "Access All Categories" box (default) to have them go to the "All Parts" menu.
