Datapage just got me good

Ok, I have just realized that Im screwed from not knowing how to use datapage. I asked the question yesterday about deleting parts and empty variables.

Now I just realized all my numbers are all mixed up with the nominals because I was changing things. The whole 100 dimension variables look like from one point on have the wrong nominals.
Do I have to go in and change line by line? How does this not grab the nominals from the part run. I am lost........and screwed.

  • With a Demo version I was able to copy the transactions from the "ForHandledFiles" folder and paste them to the "ForStatsFiles". Then select Check for the DataImporter to import the transactions to the database. Then removed the tractions that were of issue in DataPage. Now I haven't tried this since the Demo version testing DataPage.

This. If you're using the XML files with DataImporter. (Do NOT do this if you import straight into the database from PC-DMIS)

What I would do is delete that whole thing out of the database. Right click on the gear and "Remove from database". Then grab the 30 pieces you actually want and cut and paste them into the ForStatsFiles folder. Right click on the DataImporter icon down in the task bar, and "Check". This will re-import the data.

DataPage can be funky about how it handles stuff. Usually the latest transaction selected is used for nominals, leader line colors, etc. The actual data shouldn't jump variables though. If you have 25 variables and deleted variables 15 to 20, then that information is gone for good, and (like excel), the rest of the variables just get bumped up.

Ya, what Vinni said! Still works that way in new versions, good to know.
