Datapage+ Issue sending stats over

DataPage+, the "+" stands for "plus it sometimes just doesn't work."

One of the most frustrating software experiences Ive had yet in my working career. Nothing comes close.

At the very beginning of your program insert STATISTICS




Next this screen will popup Choose DATAPAGE + OFFLINE the first 2 will be checked. You can choose whatever else you would like to transfer.



Hit Ok and this popup will come up, just hit OK



At the bottom of the program Insert another SATISTICS.



Make sure you click on DataPage under the Database options or you won't see Update to the left.

Next Post we will see about your Data Importer settings.

Check in the right hand corner of windows to make sure Data Importer is running.



If not Goto start and start it. Next right click on icon and then left click on Settings



On the General Tab Path to Monitor click on browse to see where your STATS are going

notice auto check. I have mine to check every minute. Default is 5 minutes. So if you run your program. It may not show up in Datapage for another 5 minutes.



Your Path should be Users/Public/Public Documents/WAI/Datapage+/ForStatsFiles



If not go ahead and click on that path. Then click on Miscellaneous Tab for the next page.
Move to Directory. Same Path as above except choose ForHandleFiles here.

Also make sure that the box is checked there. Start when login the system.
That way when you start your computer it automatically starts with it.

Unless of course your running Windows 10. DataPage 5.2 is broken. If you are running Windows 10, DataPage 5.0 works, and you have to run Data Importer 5.0

Ok, so I have my own created database, not using the default. I noticed you did not choose anything in the first stats command line. If I choose my database in this step.........I do not get the "Database could not be opened" prompt.

Should I choose my own database in this step or not. What about at the end?

So are you, apparently... It looks like they're just giving it away.

Sorry haven't gotten back. Lets begin shall we.

First sign into DataPage as Administrator, then go to Tools, upper right hand corner, and Data Connection.

Click on New and name it what ever you want. Next click on Create Database....



You need to make your Path Users\Public\Documents\WAI\DataPage+\Database\ <<<<<<<<<< I created a folder and called it Kirby11



Next under Database name Your choice call it what you want. Put a check mark in that box Create a database instant........ Hit OK



Now your database is created.



Open up Data Importer and make sure your path is the same click on customize and make sure to choose your folder and option.

Don't setup a path when you put a stats command in your program. leave it blank like I showed.

Did you choose DataPage + under the options? or just Datapage? It needs to be Datapage +

I cant chose the second bullet option (choose a local database instancc) says the database is already being used. Ive always had the first bullet point chosen with my database chose.
I just put the stats commands in like your example and it just worked on a program that had issues sending over.

I will change all my programs over to this method and let you know. So far so good. Thanks so much for the help.

Hope everything works out for you. I think you might want to check all your permissions also. One of my DataPages was doing that, wouldn't let me choose. It was a permissions thing.
