Copy into part database from another

I have a Part Number Database that as I change revisions there is another part number created. So I will have xxx_A, xxx_B etc..., What I would like to do is to copy the data from the revision A into the revision B, as nothing that affects my dimensioning has changed ( paint updated ), they want 100 pieces checked, I have approx. fifty in each folder and would like to have them all together in one so that 1 statisticle sheet can be ran. Any suggestions on how I can do this?

  • I will assume you are talking about Datapage:

    1) Export the data (DATABASE ~ ASCII Archive ~ DUMP) from the "A" part
    2) Edit the file you created and change the "PART" name in the file to the "B" part
    3) IMPORT the data in the same manner that you archived it.

    ALL the data will now be in the same "PART"

    I have tried repeatedly to follow the directions listed above, since we have had situations where we have taken parts that we have saved data for and moved them from the job number the data was saved under to a new job number and combined these parts w/ parts from yet another job (these are all the same parts- just different batches) and I have tried to find a way to combine the data from existing databases into a new database, and have not been able to find a way. For some reason, when I try to follow the directions listed above, I cannot seem to get anything other than an error message from Datapage. Could you possibly give a little more detailed direction to allow for my limited intelligence? Just assume I'm a complete idiot and know nothing about Datapage and go from there, if it wouldn't be too much trouble.
