Q-DAS Tools Launcher - Handling and Configuration

Q-DAS License
This tool is used to manage Q-DAS licenses. For example, to register, change the number of licenses in a server-client environment or renew subscription licenses. 

License Viewer
With the License Viewer, a view of the currently used licences, the borrowed licences or the available licence stock can be created.

Database Update
The "Database Update" tool is a central component of the update for patches, minor releases and major releases. Updating the databases is a process consisting of several steps using different administrative Q-DAS tools. The handling of the "Database Update" tool will therefore be explained in the context of updating an SQL database. Static DB
This tool is used to create or update the structure of Q-DAS databases. It contains all the information about the database structures required for the version used, as well as the contents of the configuration database and the text database.

Database Connect
All database connections are stored in a central file (FireDAC). The Database Connect tool can be used to manage the connections.

Database compress
Due to the urgent recommendation to stop using Access databases and to switch to SQL (i.e. to regard the delivered Access databases only as a carrier platform for the information), this tool no longer has any real significance. In times when the use of Access databases was standard, an Access database could be compressed with this tool.

Dashboard
Upload Dashboard is a central tool for monitoring uploads. When suitably configured, administrators can get an overview of all running uploads, all search directories, and all files which are ready to be uploaded. The Upload Dashboard also can be used for the distribution of central catalogue information to local workstations. This document describes how to configure the Upload Dashboard and how it works.
