Quindos V6 Scanning options

Using Quindos V6 how do you set a direction for a scan and how do you start and stop a scan at specific areas like a partial radius in machine Z direction, and why does it say "RING BUFFER FULL, PUT FAILED" randomly during scans
  • you must use a command to generate your scan path:
for example GENSCACIR. you define the start and end point, and the plane of the circle, and also the captured radius.
There are 2 modes for scanning in Quindos:
HSS (High Speed Scanning) where the points on the path are generated in advance.
SCA (regular scanning) where only the coordinate of the start, direction and end point is generated.
the scanning stops when the prope comes to the vicinaty of the end point, within the captured radius.

If you get an error, it comes from the CMM.
  • many different ways to scan with Q6 (please note, Quindos6 is 'old', the Quindos7 was release ~2008).

You can create the NPT's for scanning manually. These would be a SDA point, a STA point, a DIR point and a STO point.
You can use a command to create the NPT's, such as GENSCACIR, GENSCAAXI.

The 'ring buffer full' error is an error from the controller of the CMM. Depending on the vintage of the controller, you may be exceeding the 'point density'.
