Can Quindos intersect a nominal line with a measured curve? For instance, let's say I have a curve in the YZ plane at the X value of 0.0 mm. Then I construct a nominal line with the X axis value of 0.0 mm, a Y value of 12 mm, a Z value of 8MM, and the line parallel to the X axis with no deviation in Y or Z. (This is assuming that the curve is compensated normal to the surface and instead of center of ball).
Unfortunately given the DOE work that we do, I can't provide you with a print, or a sketch. Hopefully I can simplify this verbally. Let's say I have a curve that happens to be exactly a 45 degree line in the YZ plane with a starting X,Y,Z location of (0,-25,0) and an ending location of (0,0,25). I have a constructed line at X,Y,Z location of (0,12,8) with an I,J,K of (0,1,0). Can this line be intersected with the curve? Or, will it be intersected with the center of ball offset away from the surface?
