Suspension won't compress

Hello, I am a student at the University of Leeds using A/Car for my dissertation and only have a few months experience with the software.

I have been using the FSAE formula car template and modifying the hardpoints of the suspension components to represent our universities fsae car. Whilst doing some basic single wheel travel simulations I found that the pull rod would move relative to the wishbone and upright when in fact they should have a rigid relative to each other. This meant that pull rod (and rocker and spring) would remain stationary whilst the rest of the suspension and wheel assembly would move under bump conditions. I have since managed to stop this from occurring, however a new issue has now appeared.

During bump travel the pull rod now twists the rocker and then locks fixed, meaning all of the bump travel is absorbed by the deflection of the tyre instead (shown in the attached figure). I have opened the assembly in A/View and checked that the rocker has a revolute joint where it attaches to the chassis , which I assumed would have constrained motion.
