I use the 2016 version of Adams Car and the provided sedan_FWD.asy without changes.
I can't check the box 'shift gears' in the settings of the acceleration simulation and if I plot the gear over time afterwards it stays constant (1 in this case).
However if I plot e.g. the longitudinal velocity of the chassis over time, the graph shows plateaus as if there was no acceleration for a few time steps. Also the engine_rpm gets smaller during those timesteps.
Can anyone explain to me what is happening there?
