Hi, I am trying to design H-arm, camber link rear suspension type for SAE Baja ATV, but why trying to analysis it keeps on asking me for suspension parameter array. But all I know is that suspension parameter array which is for Front suspension because that's where the steer geometry can be defined. Can someone help me what should I do here to avoid this problem?
Every template must have suspenstion parameters array defined, either using geometric method or instant axis method. You can define suspension parameter array define in template builder.
thanks jozef.bucha but I defined toe/camber but still gives me an error of suspension parameter array should be defined. I know for front suspension type we have to define steer axis calculation array, is it necessary for rear suspension too. And if yes can you tell me how should i do it or what should be given I that array definition dialog box. I attached my template too, please help me out to solve this.
You have to define steer axis calculation for every suspension.
You are setting up steer axis calculation in template. Template has major role (e.g. suspension, steering,...). Front, Rear is defined later as minor role in subsystem
In template set up steer axis : Build -> Suspension Parameters -> Characterics Array -> Set
I also have noticed that part camber_link is connected at both ends with spherical joints. AFAIK it is not good solution.
thanks for your quick response and for the suspension parameter array I will try this and regarding the spherical joint, we actually use Heim joint in those places hence I choose that joint, after trying an kinematic analysis I may change that to revolute joint. This is all because I am to this software that why I keep ask question like this and trying joints to understand what is happening there and trying to debug my problems like this. Once again thanks for your quick response and using your time to solve my doubts.
Using two spherical joints will cause that your link is free to rotate around its axis. Check templates in acar shared database i.e. double wishbone how tie rod is connected. One end spherical, one end convel or hooke
