I do not understand why adams car computes moment of inertia in different way than adams view. If i understand correct Adams view as default uses cm marker for both cm position and orientation. According geometry view orients cm marker in such way that only Ixx, Iyy, Izz are there and Ixx>Iyy>Izz. Adams Car uses two markers cm and inertia. cm oriented , but inertia is calculated according inertia marker with is positioned in same place as cm marker, but oriented same as PCS. Why? What is advantage of this?
Second question why i have all values same (mass, cm position, Ixx, Iyy, Izz) but Iyz has different sign. I believe that both Adams and Catia are same.
So clearly, the definition for cross inertias are different between Catia and ADAMS. Not uncommon. Both are correct, depending on which text book you read. I have found that ADAMS differ from most CAD programs in this definition.
My idea was to measure i.e. lca in catia with different materials used in assembly in catia and have just one part in adams using measured values. I was suprised with different values of inertia.
