What is the cause of the difference between Adams Insight result based on an Adams Car full-vehicle model and Adams Car manual simulation result? (Only Four-Poster Results)

I have been working on damper optimization analyses. I have prepared varying damper files to combine in Adams Insight. I have tried many different test-rig. Knowing how objectives and their equal value in the postprocessor differ in a four-poster analysis is crucial. For example, Adams Insight reports vertical acceleration as 0.45 g, but Adams Car reports the result as 0.39 g.

  • There are two potential sources of such a big error
    1. Files are not identical. Use a DIFF tool to compare the adm-files from the two runs, then the acf and finally the event xml files.
    2. Your integrator settings are too loose, the results are not converged. What settings are you using for
      1. Integrator (GSTIFF/I3, GSTIFF/SI2, HHT....)?
      2. Which corrector(original, modified, constant_original)?
      3. Error tolerance?
      4. Hmax? If hmax is not set, what is your outsput step size?
