flex-to-solid contact has been used for a long time by various customers across different industries.
To me it seems as if you do not have proper RBE element definition and/or perhaps proper interface node definition.
For example, if the interface node is only connected to a few slave nodes on the mesh, then these nodes and this their elements will be responsible for bearing the reaction forces/torques. This is while in reality, there is a larger surface or volume that bears the reaction forces/torques. Therefore a proper selected slave nodes can fix such issue.
I understand this, but can't seem to find a good way of adding nodes to my interface nodes. Is there a way to select nodes in a region instead of individually in ADAMS View?
There are a few different methods shown in the attachment tab of the ViewFlex toolkit. These methods are Cylindrical, Spherical, Solid Feature (e.g. face, edge) and closest nodes.
You should be able to make use of these methods to properly select your RBE2's slave nodes. If not, an FE pre-processor may be needed to proper define the RBE2 elements.
