I am trying to model friction preload torque for a rotating shaft, whose friction value should be fed by Simulink through a state variable. I cannot link the value in state variable to Friction input, since it can accept only design variable. (attached screenshot)
If I created a rotating mass that's tied to ground with a revolute joint, and then coupled its rotation with the items I'm interested in braking, I could apply a side load that generates a brake torque.... right?
