Is there a way to change the graphics to X11 for the linux `./mdi` command?

I get this warning:

WARNING: You are running Adams on un-supported graphics 'Mesa Project and SGI' driver version. This could produce ambiguous results

Then, all of the text is white with a white background. It's unusable on Linux.

X11 is unfortunately not included in later versions of Adams, which makes it a pain when remote-accessing it on Linux.

Depending on your Linux version and flavor you may or may not be able to update your Mesa driver.

I have had success in doing this on Red Hat but not on SUSE.

Default Mesa driver is probably around version 10.*.

Installing the latest version (~18.* at the time) worked for me.

I've got Mesa 20.3.3-1 (running Arch linux, I know its not officially supported)

Are there any variables or tags that might change to a different graphics?

Attempting to run on Arch may be a stretch ...

It runs, I just need a way to change the graphics to something supported. Arch is one of the more flexible distros out there. If it runs on RHEL/Ubuntu there's got to be a way to get it to run on Arch.

Firing up another desktop environment?

Is there a way to change font colors/contrast in the dialogue boxes?
