Hello
I would like to change a solid to a flexible part. I have created a test model with a "cylinder" (R5mm, L200mm) and an "ellipsoid" (D20mm). The cylinder is attached to ground with a revolute joint and to the ellipsoid with a fixe
The simultation described behaves as expected and does not produce any errors.
Now I want to make the cylinder flexible with the command: "Rigid to flex" --> "Create New". Component and material are selected and 6 modes are to be displayed for a stress analysis. (The rest is set to default)
Now I get the following error in the message window:
Storing Solid Mesh Data...
Creating Mesh Preview for Solid in progress...
ERROR: mnf creation failed.
ERROR: For more details please check tmp_mesh.f06 log in working directory.
If I now go to my working directory, the following files are displayed:
tmp_mesh.afi
tmp_mesh.bdf
tmp_mesh.dat
tmp_mesh.txt
During my troubleshooting I did not find anything and therefore I would like to pass on my question to you. Especially without the log file it is hard to find my problem.
I've created cylinder based on your inputs (r=5 mm and l=200 mm). Then as you described I also used ViewFlex to create a flexible body. At my end MNF creation run through without any errors.
Thank you for your answers. I have now tried different mesh settings, but I always get the same error. Therefore, I guess there are problems with the software itself. Is it possible that I am missing something in the installation? The "missing" log file seems to me to be an indication of this.
I have already used an .mnf file with the examples, which worked well, but the file creation does not work properly. (see picture)
If you have further questions, it is also possible to contact me via mobile.
Thank you for your answer. I added these elements later. It doesn't work without these elements either. (I removed them and tested it again).
Also I think my total 50 tokens should be enough. I have now redone the installation of the licence programme and it still doesn't work with the flexible components.
I recommend that you contact Adams Support directly at <mscadams.support@mscsoftware.com> so that one of our Licensing and/or Adams engineers can look into this issue further.
