I noticed that when using Adams View 2019.2 it was crashing a lot when solving a lot of contacts, though when I switched to 2021.3 it stopped crashing, does 2012.3 have better capability with contacts/large forces?

  • Hi Sarah,

If you are referring to Adams View crashes, Adams 2021.3 is certainly more stable than Adams 2018.x and 2019.x. If this is related to Solver crashes, that depends of various factors and can be very model dependent.

We certainly have had improvements in our integrators (especially HHT) during past few years and some geometry handling has also improved. These could also be affecting crashes.
