I very frequently import CAD files into view and must sometimes move them to the proper position using the precision move command. After applying joints, etc. the parts will move to the original 'pre-moved' location when the initial conditions are solved prior to running a simulation. How can I correct this behavior?
If you: import > add joints..., > rotate/translate > run (equil, initial condition, simulations). the system is likely to behave the way you wrote. Have a look at the joints, bushings... and notice the difference 0 position/orientation in both i and j markers, when you add these to the model both i and j will be coincident.
if you: import > rotate/translate > add joints..., > run (equil, initial condition, simulations) and it behaves as you wrote. This may be that the equilibrium/initial condition position in your system is closer to the CAD position. Having said this, CAD position is not usually the real equilibrium position.
