Forces and moments in Coupler

Hello,

is there any function with which I can measure the forces and moments in COUPLER? Similar to JOINT or MOTION functions?

If I remember correctly, you should use the JOINT() function and measure on the joint the direction constrained by the coupler. Did you try this?

Hello Henrik,

thanks for your hint.

When I compare the the torque in the coupler and in the joint in the direction constrained by coupler then there is a big difference - factor 10 000.

This is not an option.

I have found a way to measure the torque on different place in model.

It would be nice to have function similar to JOINT() or MOTION() to measure the forces and torques in coupler.

Hi Ondrej,

Looking in the SimCompanion knowledge base, it is suggested to use a GCON instead of a COUPLER to easier include measuring of the transferred forces. This could be a direct way forward for you.

Hi Henrik,

thanks for the hint, but the coupler is used in ._epowertrain_gse.tpl template from shared_hybrid_database.cdb and I will not touch the running system.
