[scFlow ver.2024.1] How to resolve the error 305

I am sorry for the delayed reply. As you mentioned most of our colleagues in Japan are in vacation. so I will try to answer your question. Based on your explanation it seems like the region name solid is not available in the mesh file (gph). Could you double check your part tree and parts list to make sure that all the parts are all considered and nothing is lost while building the model? I am attaching an image from our operation manual Tutorial 2, explaining how the parts order works in scFLOW. I hope that this will help you solve the problem. Since this is a public forum, I don't want to ask for any files here. Please let me know if you are not able to resolve the problem using this information, we will figure out another way to resolve the issue.

Sorry for the late reply. Thank you for the detailed explanation. Your suggestion did not solve the problem. however, after registering the physical properties, I 'm able to perform the analysis. So, I have two new questions.

Is it possible to perform thermal fluid analysis without registering the physical properties?

When creating a mesh, tiny surfaces and lines remain. Will this affect the analysis?

 It would be helpful if you could teach me.

If I understand correctly the issue you are reporting is cause due to not assigning any material properties to the parts/volumes. The way scFLOW works is that all the parts are defined as obstacles unless otherwise specified. What this means is that there will be no mesh generated in these regions. This explains the error you reported in your first message. So to answer your question, no we cannot solve the problem without defining a solid or fluid material properties to the parts. 

Regarding your second question about tiny surfaces or lines. Once you build a model you will see feature lines in black. These lines are ridges, typically these lines are maintained during meshing unless the octree is too coarse that changes the shape of the model significantly. In that case I will recommend you to refine the octree a little bit to improve the surface resolution. So to answer your question having some of these lines/features are expected but if there are too many of these caused due to poor capturing of the geometry it might result in bad quality mesh elements which will result in less accurate solution or in some cases cause divergence. I hope that this answers your question.
