input format for scPOST

Dear Cradle Community,

As a MSCOne user I would like to know if I can use scPOST for post-processing other results than CFD?
I find scPOST terrific and would like to use it each time I can, so, in short, what format scPOST is supporting?

Thanks in advance for your reply. :-)
Best regards,

Christophe

  • Dear Christophe,

Thank you for reaching out to the Cradle Community with your question. We're glad to hear that you find scPOST to be a valuable tool for post-processing.

I'm pleased to inform you that scPOST does indeed support a wide variety of formats beyond CFD. You can use it for post-processing results related to structural, multibody or acoustic analysis, among other possibilities. This is in fact interesting to have a clear picture of cases with multiphysics nature, or simply maintaining a workflow within an interface you're familiar with.

For more details on supported formats, please refer to our scPOST reference manual: User's Guide Postprocessor Reference - Menu Guide - [File] - [Open]. Here’s the list:

    • Field file (*.fld, *.iFLD, *.fph, *.gph, *.cgns),
    • Adams Solver Dataset file (*.adm),
    • Marc post files (*.t16, *.t19),
    • Nastran files (*.h5, *.nas, *.dat, *.bdf),
    • time series file (*.tm),
    • status file (*.sta),
    • neutral file (*.neu, *.nfb),
    • Parasolid file (*.xmt_txt, *.x_t, *.xmt_bin, *.x_b),
    • IPC2581 file (*.xml, *.cvg),
    • 3D-ROM file (*.3dr),
    • initialization file (*.xenv),
    • variable list file (*.hen),
    • EMT file (*.xemt, *.emt),
    • and Max/Min file (*.ot).

I'm also sharing a link to a recent video we posted in our CoSim Community page that might be of interest to you. It showcases scPOST in action within a multiphysics scenario involving fluid, structural, multibody, and acoustics results. Slight smile

I hope this information is helpful. If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to reach out.

    Kind regards,

  • Dear Oscar,

Thanks for your reply. That is great to see all these connections.

I can see that cgns format is supported. Is the storage data HDF5 supported?

    Best regards,

    Christophe
