I see an option for adding a projection plane on circles but not for cylinders.
Hello Samuel Romer , the reason that you see projection plane for circles is that circles are 2D and definitely requires a projection plane to project them. However, cylinders are 3D and do not require projection planes.
May be if you can share more details on the application that you are working on, we can think on this more!
Some of our parts have smaller holes that are difficult to scan enough data from the cylinder, so I manually select some points in hole.
This causes the measured cylinders to be tilted at unusual angles, causing the hole position calculation to be out of spec.
Hi Samuel Romer , I did some trials from my end. Could you try the below steps?
Measure a small plane around the cylinder feature which can serve as a projection plane.
Now, add that as input feature for the cylinder that you would like to extract.
Hi Krishna,
That didn't work. The triangle error says "Too many planes given". I ended up just using a circle.
Thanks for the help.
