I am trying to simulate a multi-step accumulative roll bonding process. In the process, several sheets of metal are rolled, then cut, re-stacked and rolled again.
Ideally, steps (or passes) would be set up as separate simulations. The problem I run into is that the Previous Analysis (Pre State) option does not seem to support the reduced integration elements (type 115 for example). I was able to make everything work with full integration type 11, however, there are these weird small irregular deformations, which introduce noise in the stress and strain result, see attached image. This is not observed with reduced integration elements, which is why I would like to be able to use them.
Two questions:
1) Is there another way to map strains and stresses from previous analysis onto a new one besides the pre state option?
2) Is there a way to get rid of these weird deformations when using full integration elements?
Thank you for the models. I installed Marc 2020 and checked them. It appears you used element type 11 (full integration). My problem is with reduced integration elements (e.g. 115). I cannot make the Pre State option work with element type 115.
