How to create zero-thickness (cohesive) elements?

Cohes
The picture above is taken from the user's guide of Marc-Mentat 2021.1 (e022). As you can see from the picture, the cohesive part has the same mesh with top part. How can I create these zero-thickness elements between two sets of elements?

Note: I know how to define geometric and material properties. I just don't know how to create zero-thickness elements.

  • Dear Kiranraj Shetty,

Thank you for your reply. I used Convert>Faces to Elements to create interface elements and gathered these interface elements in a set. Then assigned geometric (Geometric Properties>New>Interface) and material (Material Properties>New>Finite Stiffness Region>Interface/Cohesive) properties. In job check I received an error (screenshot below) and I couldn't assign element type 192 to interface elements (triangular). Could you please help me about that?
