This is a bug which is triggered by issues with USB devices, and there are two known causes:
1. Stale USB drive connection. At some point a USB drive was connected, and when it was removed the connection wasn't completely cleared. In this case, reconnecting any USB device usually allows Windows to refresh the connections.
2. A device is connected via USB that Windows identifies as a disk drive, but which can't be accessed. One example of this was a mobile phone that had been plugged in to a USB slot to charge. Unplugging it stopped the error message coming up. Subsequently plugging it in again did not cause the problem to recur.
Usually just plugging in any other USB device causes a refresh and makes the Apex error message go away. If that's not working, then perhaps a reboot might help?
I had tried swapping the mouse and rebooting did not help. After swapping mouse, I uninstalled Apex Grizzly, rebooted, then reinstalled Apex, rebooted and same result.
Sorry, I should have said any USB disk device. It's only USB devices that Windows recognises as disks that trigger and clear the problem. Can you try with a flash drive or external disk?
