I just finished 2D meshing a large model with 200 parts ... many are tied together with edge ties. Now I run Mesh Quality and have 385 INVALID elements out of 85,000 or so. I did a show only and Apex shows me those bad guys. Most are slivers. I would like to just dragbox and delete all those elements. But that deletes the entire mesh on that part. So then I tried using the cascade menu to select finite elements. I can select them, but I cannot delete them. Then I tried moving some nodes that were a tiny distance away from each other, but APEX won't let me do that because they are on an edge tie. What to do to get rid of these pesky little bad elements?
My last attempt was to Show Only the invalid elements, dragbox to select them, and then do a CUT, create a new PART and PASTE them into the new part. But that brought in all the parts that contained those elements .. not just the invalid elements. UGH!
So I went back and increased the tolerance for Geometry Cleanup and that fixed 383 of them. Then I had to delete an edge tie so that I could move a vertex to eliminate two nodes VERY close together, got the good mesh and redefined the edge tie. Got the running man icon and the job ran!
