When exporting a BDF from Apex, I get multiple copies of the same section definition, is there a way to prevent this?

My section definitions define multiple parts, but if I was to do this in patran, there would be one PSHELL card which defines a selection of elements. Ideally when moving from Apex to Patran, I want to minimise the number of PSHELL entries for large assemblies.

This is a consequence of the way Apex handles Parts, and there isn't a way currently to avoid it. However, once you've imported your model into Patran, you can use the "Compress" function in Element Properties to merge together property sets that have the same values.

Thanks Darrel, I didnt even realise there was a compress option in material properties. I wont be forgetting it anytime soon. That solves my problem pretty well!
