Is there a way to measure the location of points, provided in its XYZ components, rather than a resultant and can the basic sketch planes be moved from the origin?
I have a assembly which is 100m away from the origin and in other packages like patran, you can create planes to work with, but there doesn't seem to be the above options in Apex.
You can't currently do that directly in Apex. There are a couple of options. You can pick any flat surface or face as a sketch plane, so if you have something suitable in your model you can pick that. Alternatively, sketch a flat surface at the origin and transform it to where you want to sketch, then pick that surface as the new sketch plane.
