Is it possible to retrieve mass properties from a part in MSC Apex? I'd like to confirm that after geometry cleanup and meshing I have the same properties as CAD.

Currently enhancement requests has been forwarded to PD for including MASS/INERTIA calculations tool in Apex.

For current versions it's not available, however it will be implemented in future releases.

Surface area would also be nice. Beam properties of a cross section would be great as well.

The latest APEX has some custom tools written by the good folks at MSC to deal with that. Even though I'm grateful that these are there, this is still a workaround and the functionality must be in Apex, we can't have half of the code as an unsupported set of scripts...
