LICENSE: server pc not found

Hello,

I would like to install MSC Apex 2021 using the licence (floating licence) available on another computer which operates as a server on the same network. I have created the same environment variable both on the server and on the client computer (27500@server_name) but when I pass it to complete the installation, the software cannot find it. Any idea why this is happening? Thank you.

From my experience with helium. Try to temporary disable firewall on PC with license server. See if then it works. If it works enable firewall. Then go to lmtools config services tab and check log file using View log. Look for another listening port. Add also this port to firewall exceptions. 27500 is always same. The second one is always different after stoping server, restarting server.

If someone knows better solution how to setup firewall, not using port exceptions i will be thankful

Also during Adams instalation Adams was telling that license server is down. But after instalation it was working. This issue i did not notice in Adams 2021

1) Can you ping server_name from the client?

2) Can you use the ip address and see if it works?

3) Not sure what you mean by creating the same environment on both

Thank you all for your suggestions.

I solved the issue. Two reasons behind it.

Both the server and the client were not visible on the local network. I turned on visibility on both, as a result I was able to ping the server.

Windows firewall prevented the Flexml to start. I followed instructions provided at the following SimCompanion link: simcompanion.mscsoftware.com/.../index
